Who

<aside> 🚶 Our audience are Angelenos who are enthusiastic about Los Angeles, the city they call home. They take pride in representing all things L.A. and love to check out new spots around the city in search of unique LA experiences.

What/How

There is an opportunity to allow people to learn about the variety of cultures the city has while in a playful environment. There is also an opportunity to invite play at Grand Park to engage visitors to create a memorable experience.

Our solution adds value to our audience by serving as a unique L.A. experience, allows users the space and opportunity to play, physical and mental health boost for users through play, and users can explore and learn L.A. diverse cultures.

Our solution adds value to Grand Park by increasing visitors, promotes Grand Park’s core values, visitors can take a slice of Grand Park via the QR code, and visitors utilize more areas of Grand Park.

Needs/Problems

Problem

LA locals view Grand park as an event venue instead of an outdoor central gathering space.

Locals are searching for unique LA experiences but only visit the park if there’s a specific event happening.

User Needs

People liked how many different activities LA had to offer such as, museums, hiking, beach, events, bars etc.

LA fans go to places in LA to feel connected to the community and the area. They use imagery to share their pride.

People appreciate the diversity and availability of food, activities, and interesting groups of people.

Impact

People should recognize Grand Park as a place to have fun not only when there are events occurring. Grand Games allows play at the park at all times even when there isn’t an event. This will allow for Grand Park to become a hotspot for L.A. enthusiasts to check out the games at the park.

Survey Data

Games placed on tables failed to capture the attention of passers-by on the surrounding walkways.

Through our survey of 30 participants 72.4% of individuals are interested in playing a game at Grand Park with other park visitors.

71.5% of individuals are curious to learn about different cultures through playing a culturally related game.

69% of individuals feel comfortable playing a game at Grand Park.
